"Katie" is a very special girl. She finished her Canadian title as a puppy with Group placements and a Best Puppy In Show at the LMDF fall show (Canada's largest indoor dog show). She completed her field titles in very short order, displaying both beauty and brains.
Katie was helped over the rainbow bridge on January 4, 2016. May she be able to chase all the mice and moles to her heart's content. Katie used to bring me either the head or the tail, depending which way the mole was digging. She was very fast; they didn't stand a chance. Her love for birds earned her derby wins and a placement at the National Field Championship. Winning the Rally title at the nationals when she had never been taught or shown how to sit, was very special. Katie did whatever I asked of her. As she got older, she had her routine and could not be swayed to go any other direction or speed. Katie DoDo, as I called her, will be very missed here.
In the US during the 2002 American Pointer National Specialty Show week, Katie came back with a full load - winning the Open Derby at the National Field Trial, a qualifying score at the National Hunt Test AND was Best of Winners at the supported entry show!
Katie completed her American JH in June of 2002. Katie was Best Veteran Bitch at the American National Specialty in Kentucky. Katie is now a spayed veteran and enjoying retirement.
